What is a Will?
A Last Will and Testament (commonly referred to as a “Will“) is a legal document that allows someone to name beneficiaries who will inherit the assets they own after death.
A Will names two (2) types of people:
Beneficiaries (people who will get the assets) and
Executors/Personal Representatives (the person(s) responsible for dealing with the court so the beneficiaries get the assets)
A Will does not go into effect until after someone passes away and a Will must go through probate.
