What is a Mediation?

A Mediation is a meeting where people who are involved in a disagreement try to come to an agreement with the help of a neutral third person.

Let’s break it down:

  • Two (2) or more people are in a dispute (like a lawsuit or divorce).

  • They come together and meet with someone who is completely neutral (called a Mediator).

The Mediator does not take sides and does not make decisions.

The mediator’s job is to help both sides communicate, negotiate, and hopefully come to a resolution.
